REFLECTION WORK DIARY
IMAGE 1
EVALUATION - Out of all the images I took of reflection this is one of my favourites because of the simplicity and elegance of it. I really like the way the swan has been reflected onto the water as it appears very distorted and abstract. To me the image represents the peace and tranquility that are associated with swans and how we view then when they are gliding over the water. I think this photo worked very well with the softness of the water and the natural tones of the image.
EDITING - To edit this image I firstly used the hue/saturation tool, I turned the saturation up so that the colours in the photo appeared more prominent and made it seem much brighter then it was. I also realised that the reflection on the water wasn't as dark and impactful as I wanted it to be so I decided to use the curves tool to darken up the areas that were shadowed. This turned out really well and made a really big difference to the overall image.
DEVELOPMENT - If I was to take this photo again I would try and take it in the dark so that the swan would be lit up. This would make for a really good reflective images the lights would glisten off of the water.

EVALUATION - I like how this image turned out due to the difference between natural and man-made objects. You can clearly see in the image an urban reflection in he mirror which is against a bush which shows beautiful natural colours. It almost represents two sides to our environment and how nature and man made mix in everyday life.
EDITING - There wasn't anything i wanted to do to this image before editing it because I loved the colours of it and the naturalness of the greens and oranges. However i thought I would to make it black and white to see whether it hd the same effect, which i don't think it did. I much prefer the first photo because the colours add a lot of meaning to the photo, when it is black and whiteout is hard to make out what the leaves are behind the mirror.
DEVELOPMENT - If I was to take the image again I would try something different to add death to the photo. I think it would be very interesting if in the reflection there was someone holding a mirror which would then reflect the greenery in front of them. The mirrors would reflect off of each other and make it appear that nature and man made are continually inside of each other, adding to the meaning that they mete in everyday life.

EVALUATION - I think this image came out really well as a different type of reflection compared to my other images. It s in the style of Vivian Maier as it includes my own reflection in the window while also capturing an image around it which is classed as framing and reflection. I like how this turned out because it is different in the respects that it is unclear as to here and what I am taking this photo in.
EDITING - To edit this image I wanted to make it black and white so that the detail and the reflection would be bold in the photo. To do this i used the black and white tool so that I could primarily focus on the colours that I wanted darker/lighter. I decided t mk the yellow tones the darkest part, this are the ties on the wall very dark black and the building in the background slightly darker.
DEVELOPMENT - If I was to take this photo again I would try to come in a bit closer so that my reflection is one of the main focuses of the image because i think at the moment its hard to spot at first glance.
IMAGE THAT REQUIRES IMPROVEMENT
Although I do like this image I think it requires improvement in terms of reflection due to the fact that not much was reflected in my dogs eye. If I was to take this photo again I would try to use a micro lens that would focus on the detail in his eye.
