Ansel Adams & Landscape Photography
Ansel Adams is regarded as one of the great landscape photographs of old American times. It is said that through his foresight and fortitude so much of America has been saved for future Americans. He wanted to capture the beauty of nature around him without altering it. Ansel was an environmentalist which impacted his work majorly as his appreciation of nature is shown through his photos.
What is the F64 club?
Group f/64 was a group of seven 20th-century San Francisco photographers who shared a common photographic style characterised by sharp-focused and carefully framed images seen through a particularly Western (U.S.) viewpoint.
Pictorialism
The name given to an international style and aesthetic movement that dominated photography during the later 19th and early 20th centuries.
Methodical
Adjusted the depth of field, only went out at certain times of the day for different areas and used the correct equipment for each photo.
Pre-visualisation
Where Ansel Adams would visualise the image before he captured it to think about the techniques he would use on it.
