Line Image Bank

Line Photography Image Bank

Whilst researching line photography I realised that I am more drawn to and inspired by curve lines. I like the peace and tranquillity they can bring but also the confusion. In some images, the curved line is almost like a maze and takes your eyes on a journey through the image.

This image really interests me, the view at which it was taken from is a different perspective that extenuates the curves. For me, it has a childlike feel the spiral reminds me of playing when I was young. The colour adds to this feel because its bright pink it seems fun and youthful.

This image is similar to the one above, in the perspective sense but brings a completely different feel. When I look at this image it brings a calm feeling and a feeling of beauty. The white against the cold blue really brings a feeling of quiet but perhaps an ancient era.

The image above doesn't represent the typical feel of curves. Instead, it brings a feel of stillness and emptiness. This could be partly down to the black and white effect on the image. The curve going through the middle takes your eyes on a journey to the horizon and looks almost abandoned due to the lack footprints or dents that are seen on it.

This image of a mountain area shows the true beauty of nature. The powerful green looks untouched by human life and the curved river you can tell has been carved by nature. The curve of the lake gives the whole image a look of tranquillity that can only be seen from nature.

Although this photo isn't just curves the main shape of it is. What I like about this image is the confusion that it brings like I said before. It can be interpreted in many different ways and in different layers of lines. The mix of curves, vertical, diagonal and horizontal lines really gives the image depth and an eye-catching appeal.

  1. good post but you need to update it using the relevant terminologies (leading lines are present wha do they do, how does the viewer navigate the composition through leading lines... )... are their other visual elements that help create a peaceful or dynamic sense e.g. diagonal lines (movement)...
