Image 1
Evaluation - On the day when taking photos it was raining, so I thought that the rain drops would make an interesting texture. Something a little bit different to other images. The umbrella really reflects the droplets of water well making them very obvious against the material. To capture the droplets I used the flash on the camera, this reflected of the rain, making the droplets appear shiny.
Editing - As you can see the original image of the umbrella shows it as black however I thought this looked boring so to make it more interesting I moved the hue of the colours to the dark blue which happened to make the umbrella appear purple. Then I turned up the saturation to make the colour appear more saturated. Lastly, I noticed that the water droplets didn't look as obvious as I wanted them too, therefore I used curves to make the outline of them appear darker.
Development - Ideally if I took this image again I would want more rain droplets on it in order to really show texture on it. However I do really like the way it turned out for an unplanned image.
Image 2
Evaluation - I really like this image because of the contrast between the textures. The smooth texture of the cement against the bumpy and raised tiles really compliment each other. I think this picture worked very well because it shows how different textures show up on camera. It's a very simple yet effective image which really interests me.
Editing - When editing the image I thought it would be more effective in black and white. To do this first I turned the saturation right down, this made the image colourless but very faded and dull. To make the black and white have an impact I used curves so that I could concentrate on darkening the tiles and cracks between them but also whitening the cement that is on top.
Development - There isn't much about this image that I would change if I took it again. However, one thing that might make it better at portraying texture is to zoom in more so that the texture can be picked up more.
Evaluation - This is my favourite picture I took in terms of texture. I really like how the texture of the material looks when it's folded, it looks fluffy and soft even under hard lighting. I used the flash to take this picture so that I could pick up the texture really well. I like the fact that when you look at the image it isn't obvious what it actually is, it leaves us to individual minds to decide where this is from.
Editing - The original of this picture was very saturated and bright where the flash had reflected on it. I wanted to get rid of this effect, to do this firstly I turned down the saturation this made the red very muted. I then used curves to made the detail appear darker. I think this worked very well because it makes the texture really stand out.
Development - There isn't anything I would change about this image because I really like the way it came out. The final edited versions colour and the amount of texture that is captured all complinments each other well.
Photo that requires improvement
I think this is my worst image, I think this because it doesn't really show the texture very well. What you can't see in the image is that the white paint is peeling off, this is what I tried to capture. It was very difficult to catch this on camera as the paint was on the ceiling, this means I couldn't get the right angle to take the picture.

a well executed post well done...I think you are doing very well my only suggestion would be to push the work further and try and make the image amore extreme/pronounced e.g. through black and white and also using curves to increase the contrast further.
